Hello Bark at the Moon, My name is Mike and I reside in the southern tier of NY in Steuben County (Bath) and hunt mainly in Wheeler Township just outside of my home town. I have been hunting coyote on and off for 10 seasons now and have never bagged one. I know it is something I'm doing wrong but have tried everything from calling to baiting and nothing seems to work. Added to my frustration is people I deer hunt with on private land have gotten them just by having them be passer by's, IE sitting in a tree stand and one happens to wonder by. I'd really like to figure these dogs out and at least have some success. I'm not ready to give up because I know they are out there. Thanks in advance to anyone I can talk to that is willing to share tactics/techniques from the same basic area.

Welcome, I'm sure with time this site will get you putting Coyotes down soon... it's been a great help to me. I'm in Tioga Co. so if you are ever over this way give me a shout.

Hey mike! I also live in Stuben country! I've been a predator hunter a few seasons now and have bagged about 16 coyotes. Just a tip here, I've found then using a distress call and staying in the same spot works. Coyotes will circle around the area for awhile trying To wind you just call and stay! Also; don't use bark calls too much! I've found they only bark about every 30-45 minutes. Just be patient and best of luck!
