St Lawrence County - Maybe I'm seeing things but I swear this thing looked more like a wolf than a coyote. I saw it in May and my wife saw it a few weeks ago. At night you can hear the yotes howling and yapping but there's a few that sound like wolves. Has anyone ever seen anything looking more like a wolf? Or is it my imagination?

galupes, Your eyes are not playing tricks on you! I have a camp in Theresa, Ny. in Northern Jefferson county and have heard and seen what we call "coy dogs"up there. I believe they have to be a cross between a coyote and a grey wolf cause these animals are much larger then even a big coyote you would see.The few I have seen are equal in size and height to a large shepard, my australian/german shepard is about 55 lbs. and they are all of that.If anyone is interested in going up after deer season and try knockin a couple down we can hunt about 300 acres and there is a warm camp with indoor plumbing to stay in.There is an area on the backside of the property that we call the "flatlands", it is basically exposed bedrock maybe 150yrd wide by at least 300 yrds long surrounded by a pond/swamp on one side and heavy hardwoods and rock revines on the other. they like it back there alot! if anyone is game let me know.
