Hello,
What an awesome site. I think I could get hooked on predator hunting. My name is Rob and I live in Freedom.
After all my life hunting everything around here especially whitetail. I can see me approaching the days that I begin thinking of retirement......well at 57 it may be a little early. I decided I would like to start hunting some coyote around here. I have not a lot of experience hunting at night, did some coon hunting when I was younger, other than that I'm pretty much limited to tracking downed deer or just coming out of the woods late, plus the early entry to hunt turkeys. I'm a good shot so that's a start I guess. I got guns and a good thermal scanner. Not much in the form of big red lights. The cheapest form of an electronic caller I've had for a few years. Seems a lot of guys hunt in the morning. I've gone out a couple times with my sons and a neighbor kid and I think were all grasping at straws to get anything close. I love to read and listen well, so there's some hope and I'm up to the challenge. These boys wanna learn and because I'm an outdoorsman they're looking to me. I don't mind investing in more equipment to keep us in the woods and outta the streets.
It's getting close to the end of the season I know, but if there is someone around here that needs a gun or scanner I would love to tag along. I think mostly I need to read and research more. Next year I hope to hit it hard. Could someone point me in the direction to some of the basics?
Thanks Rob
